Get the best hotel deals in Sri Lanka

Finding the best hotel deals in Sri Lanka requires a combination of research, flexibility, and smart booking strategies. Whether you’re planning a relaxing beach vacation, exploring ancient temples, or trekking through lush green hills, here are some tips to help you secure great hotel deals:

  1. Plan Ahead:

    • Booking in advance often leads to better rates. Keep an eye out for early bird promotions or special discounts for reserving your stay well ahead of your travel dates.
  2. Use Aggregator Websites:

  3. Be Flexible with Dates:

    • If your travel dates are flexible, use search filters to find the cheapest rates across different days.
    • Consider traveling during off-peak seasons when prices tend to be lower.
  4. Sign Up for Alerts:

    • Subscribe to newsletters or alerts from hotel booking websites. They often send out exclusive discounts to their subscribers.
  5. Loyalty Programs and Memberships:

    • Join loyalty programs offered by hotel chains. Accumulate points and redeem them for discounts or free stays.
    • Some credit cards also offer hotel-related perks, so check if yours provides any benefits.
  6. Compare Different Booking Platforms:

    • Check prices on multiple platforms such as Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia, and direct hotel websites.
    • Sometimes, booking directly with the hotel can yield better rates.
  7. Look Beyond the Stars:

    • Don’t limit yourself to 5-star hotels. Consider boutique hotels, guesthouses, or B&Bs. They often provide excellent value for money.
  8. Read Reviews:

    • Reviews give insights into the hotel’s quality, service, and cleanliness. Make an informed decision based on other travelers’ experiences.
  9. Negotiate:

    • If you’re booking directly with the hotel, don’t hesitate to negotiate. Ask if they can match a lower rate you found elsewhere.
  10. Check for Hidden Costs:

    • Look out for additional fees (such as resort fees, taxes, or parking charges) that might not be included in the initial price.

Remember, the best deal isn’t always about the lowest price—it’s about finding a balance between affordability and quality. Happy travels! 🌴🏨✨

It is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. This temple complex dates back to the 1st century BC. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains.

Major attractions are spread over 5 caves, which contain statues  and paintings.  These paintings and statues are related to Lord Buddha and his life. There total of 153 Buddha statues, 3 statues of Sri Lankan kings and 4 statues of gods and goddesses.

Dambulla is a visit where you can visit. Many make this a transit point between Sigiriya and Kandy . There are about 35 hotels in the ares where you can stay. You can find the best hotel deals on Lanka Holiday Guide webpage, where we have partnered with Agoda to bring you the best deals.

Sri Lanka issued a tsunami warning across the island

Colombo:  Sri Lanka issued a tsunami warning across the island on Wednesday and the disaster management centre asked residents on the coast to move inland to avoid being hit by any large waves.

A government statement said waves could hit the island's eastern port district of Trincomalee by about 10:40 GMT and urged an orderly evacuation of the coastal strip.

"There is a strong possibility of a tsunami hitting the island after the earthquake in Indonesia," meteorological department deputy director M. D. Dayananda said.
He said the quake in Indonesia was felt in Sri Lanka, which is 1,340 kilometres (840 miles) north-west from the location of the quake.

Some 30,000 people were killed in Sri Lanka in the 2004 tsunami, which was also caused by an undersea earthquake off Indonesia. It devastated much of Sri Lanka's coastline.
